Women's Bible Study
Please join us on Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm or Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am for our Ladies Bible Study. In our sessions, we are studying 1 Peter and learning how this eyewitness to the life of Christ can help us discover what it means to experience the Living Hope we have in Christ.
New Pastor Installed!
March 5,2017 became an important date in the life of Glenn Memorial Baptist Church as our new Pastor, Rev. Jim Schwerdtfeger, was formally installed to lead our congregation. Rev. Amy Holtz of Richmond gave a message of "Beautiful Feet." Following the worship service, we enjoyed good food and fellowship at a luncheon to "officially" welcome Pastor Jim, his wife, Becky, and their family. We look forward to seeing how God will continue to work through Pastor Jim and our church.
Homecoming Was Special!
September 17, 2017, was a special day for our church. We welcomed home so many families and individuals we have missed! Nat Coleman gave a warm and humorous presentation of our church events for 2017, and we enjoyed breaking bread together in fellowship after our service. Thank you for coming!
Annual Valentine's Day Dinner, February 6
The ladies of Glenn Memorial Baptist Church wish to say "thank you" to the men of GMBC for our wonderful Valentine's Day Dinner, February 6, 2018! The food you prepared (and served) to us was delicious and the evening was such a treat!. We all enjoyed the fun and fellowship!
During Vacation Bible School, June 12-16, 2017, children from Glenn Memorial Baptist as well as from the community participated in our "Maker Fun Factory." Our participants learned that God made us wonderfully complex, that He will always love us, that He is for us and with us, and that He has a purpose for us. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped to make VBS a success and thank you to the parents and caregivers who brought their children to VBS each night.
Thank you to all who made our Christmas program a huge success!
Impact Virginia a Success!
During the week of July 17-21, GMBC members participated with other congregations to repair six homes in the Appomattox area. We thank the many volunteers who worked in the heat to replace roofs and make other needed repairs to these homes. Thanks also to many of our GMBC Baptist Women who baked cookies and created meals to feed the many workers involved in Impact Virginia.
Prince Edward Firefighters Appreciation Day
Thank you for joining us on Sunday, October 1, 2017, for our special service to recognize and celebrate the contributions of the Prince Edward firefighters! Our service was followed by a lunch of soups, salads, and potatoes in the fellowship hall. We sincerely thank and appreciate those who serve their fellow citizens every day!
Mother's Day Activity for Children and Youth!
On Saturday, May 6, children and youth gathered to make Mother's Day presents. We made crafts and a special piece of jewelry formed from stones for Moms and Grandmothers. We can't wait for these special ladies to see what their children have created!
